GPW are currently looking for a Senior Estimator / Estimator to join our client in Nottingham for their energy infrastructure divisions, particularly work on overhead lines.
Estimator / Senior Estimator
Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in office, rest working from home)
Salary - £65,000 + Benefits
Our client, a trusted leader in designing, building, and refurbishing overhead transmission lines (132kV to 400kV), is looking to expand their pre-construction team with an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator (depending on experience).
About the Role
In this role, you’ll support the development and delivery of competitive tenders for new build and refurbishment works. You'll work closely with Bid Managers, Project Development Managers, and Pre-Contract Construction Managers to price and secure new business for major transmission line projects.
This is a hybrid position, offering a balance of office-based work and remote flexibility (typically 2 days in office).
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and competitive pricing for tender submissions
* Organise and manage tender pricing communications
* Collaborate with internal teams including procurement and commercial for RFQ prep
* Analyse supply chain quotations and benchmark costs
* Understand tender documentation, deliverables, and timescales
* Lead pricing handover and internal project risk meetings
* Ensure project risks and opportunities are identified and addressed
* Support the preparation of client pricing documentation and post-submission presentations
* Occasionally junior estimators and support continuous improvement in the tender process
What You’ll Bring
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in infrastructure estimating (essential); experience in overhead line or substation projects (desirable)
* Sound understanding of construction technology and engineering terminology
* Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
* Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
* Comfortable working to deadlines under pressure
* A proactive and collaborative mindset
* Full UK Driving Licence
