Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled engineer with experience in propulsion system delivery and problem solving, with strong Systems Engineering knowledge, project leadership, and coordination skills.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to define future electric and hybrid powertrains, requiring a complete grasp of the fundamentals underpinning EV / Hybrid systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Decompose functional requirements from vehicle attributes to Powertrain hardware using Systems Engineering principles (including HV Battery, Electric Drive Unit, ICE, Transmission).
2. Optimize hardware deployment to enable class-leading customer features and attributes.
3. Be responsible for powertrain functional requirements, support system strategy, and system-level validation through virtual and physical testing.
4. Operate within a Systems Engineering environment, ideally within the automotive or a similar technical industry.
Your Responsibilities
1. Proactively understand customer needs and requirements.
2. Evaluate multiple system concepts to determine the strategic direction of the Powertrain.
3. Prepare system specifications and functional designs, demonstrating how they meet customer needs.
4. Define logical and physical architecture and operating logic for system integration.
5. Determine verification needs (e.g., test assets, facilities) and support the definition of test methodologies; analyze test data and support physical testing.
6. Adhere to the defined Systems Engineering and program delivery processes.
7. Lead resolution of complex multi-system issues.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Relevant experience in powertrain systems engineering.
* Experience in system definition, architecture development, requirements specification, CAE, hardware integration, validation, and sign-off.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
