Job Description
Quality Engineer
A prestige automotive manufacturer has an immediate requirement for an experienced Quality Engineer, to ensure compliance to international standards and solve complex quality issues
Key Accountabilities
* Providing support and coaching for the Control Managers and Problem Owners regarding the process, method.
* Escalation of problems difficult to solve.
* Support specialist departments in developing measures for optimised efficiency in defect eradication as well as their prevention.
* To ensure that problems are analysed and prioritised as appropriate
* Plan and develop Target Management Process (key indicator)
* Steer and carry out working groups, QS, QMT and Process Leads from all technologies.
* Production guidance on development and implementation of processes to improve product and process consistency and quality.
* Implement training for Quality Specialists
* Manage the Compliance of the Manufacturing & Quality System, and manage all associated documentation
* Interaction with internal/external customers and key contacts
* Target setting for the quality team.
* Determine suitable quality requirements from international standards
* Prioritise the problem landscapes with focus on the business.
* Decide best practice for new product introductions.
* Feasibility of engineering proposals
* Solve complex quality problems
* Co-ordinate requests and feedback within a matrix organisation
* Manage associates across two shifts within specified process area
Knowledge and Experience
* Qualified engineer to degree or HND level in Production/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Experienced user Quality-Methods (FMEA, FMK, SPC, Pareto)
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
* Interpreting engineering drawings and measurement reports
* Experience of QZ Audit and ability to set quality standards
* Familiar with international quality standard ISO/TS16949
* Experience in any of the following Technologies: Leather sewing, Seat & Trim covering, production validation
* Background in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering and Statistics
* Fluent English is essential and working knowledge of German would be beneficial
