Salary
Pay: Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 per hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
Hours and guarantees
It's our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you'd like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would welcome your application.
Availability
The week availability windows are provided as part of the role. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide three weeks' notice of your shifts. We are happy to support flexibility if your available times match closely but not exactly the advertised times.

Role overview
Customers are at the heart of everything we do.
As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver to customers' homes. This role is about more than driving: delivering great service with a smile. It\'s hands-on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are the same, and there is a team of Managers and colleagues back at base to support you when needed. We welcome everyone at Tesco—whether you are seeking flexible working, job stability or a change of career direction.
Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of our customer shopping trip by ensuring the van and trays are clean and tidy/organised.
* Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as you see it.
* Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Loading the van as required, and checking the van for roadworthiness.
* Talking to the customer about changes to their order, including substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
* Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
* Explaining to the customer that substitutions will not be charged extra.
* Delivering during the customer\'s time slot.
* Calling the customer before arriving if early.
* Calling the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late.
Requirements
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit, working together to ensure the store is the best it can be for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand the customer and say Thank you.
* Act quickly to respond to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, balancing home and work life.
* Share ideas with the Manager and other colleagues on how we can improve our store for customers.
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
