Overview
Working for us, you will have the opportunity to work in a busy and exciting environment. You will be responsible for assisting our Cook in preparing nutritious and appetising meals whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. Other duties will include the setting up and clearing away of tables and general cleaning duties. If you are passionate about cooking and have a good work ethic, we would love to hear from you because our self-motivated and dedicated team requires a Catering Assistant.
Requirements
* The ability to build good relationships with adults and children based on mutual respect.
* Knowledge of basic food safety. This would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.
* Good communication and people skills
* The ability to work on their own and as part of a team.
* A positive attitude and the willingness to learn new skills.
* Flexibility and the willingness to assist with other catering duties.
* An Enhanced DBS check will be requested. It is an offence to apply if barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or adults at risk.
* Welsh language level - verbal Level 1. You will need a basic knowledge of Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
Salary and terms
Salary: £25,390. This post is for 16.25 hours per week / 3.25 hours per day. Hourly rate is £13.16. Working hours are Monday to Friday, term time only (38 weeks). We offer an 'annualised' pay scheme so that staff who work term time receive pay over 52 weeks. This role could help start a career in catering or transition into other roles.
