Warehouse Nightshift Manager
Location: Southend, Essex
Hours: Monday to Friday, typically 18:00 – 04:00 (flexibility required)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £40k - £45k depending on experience + Benefits

About the Role:
We’re now looking for a confident and experienced Warehouse Nightshift Manager to take charge of our busy night operation. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will lead a team of 18 operatives, ensuring targets are met safely and eAiciently while promoting high standards and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and motivate the team to meet operational KPIs and delivery deadlines.
* Ensure all orders are picked and loaded safely and accurately.
* Supervise the transport planning function and night shift production.
* Work with other departments to resolve any issues affecting operations.
* Drive a positive safety culture; investigate accidents and promote compliance with SOPs.
* Manage shift patterns, team performance, and workload planning.
* Conduct regular team meetings and encourage staff engagement.
* Champion continuous improvement and housekeeping standards.
* Take the lead in the implementation and ongoing management of 5S to support high standards and continuous improvement.
* Provide development and mentoring to build a high-performing team.
About You:
* Proven experience in a similar warehouse management or supervisory role and have strong leadership and people management skills.
* Proactive and analytical, with a focus on achieving results and process improvement.
* Comfortable working night shifts and managing tight daily targets.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* IT literate, particularly with Excel and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
(Steel industry experience and NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications are desirable but not essential)
