North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, Pharmacy department, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team. We provide medication to support the treatment of various mental health issues for patients across North Staffordshire.
You must be able to work as part of a team and independently. Although pharmacy experience is not essential, you must be willing to work towards an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services. The role involves working hours from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday, primarily based at Harplands Hospital.
Main duties
* Manage stock effectively for all pharmaceuticals.
* Ensure safe and efficient supply and return of medication and pharmacy orders to wards/departments.
* Dispense medications for inpatients and outpatients.
* Perform ATO duties including reception, communication with wards regarding medication supplies, replenishing emergency stocks, expiry date checks, stock taking, and ward stock top-up duties.

Job responsibilities
* Adhere to legislation, standards, and procedures in all tasks.
* Participate in the adoption of new technology and techniques.
* Acquire knowledge of the pharmacy computer system with training.
* Maintain stock levels, ensuring rotation and proper storage.
* Perform cleaning duties and ensure safe waste disposal.
* Be aware of COSHH regulations for pharmaceutical storage, handling, and disposal.
Person Specification
Education (Essential)
* NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or willingness to work towards it.
* GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
Desirable
* Other healthcare qualifications.
Experience (Essential)
* Experience working in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
Desirable
* Experience in health or social care settings.
Knowledge and Skills (Essential)
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
* Advanced keyboard skills.
* Knowledge of pharmacy procedures and MS Office applications.
