About the Role
As Chef you will support and collaborate with the head chef and sous chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning and development, recipe creation and overall kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Food Preparation and Cooking, Quality Control - Consistently preparing and cooking food to a high standard, whilst maintaining food safety standards. This includes high levels of hygiene and safety in the kitchen, including proper food storage and handling.
* Communication and Teamwork - You should work effectively with other kitchen staff, supervising and motivating where necessary. You should also communicate well with senior chefs and all colleagues in the kitchen and pub generally.
* Creativity and Innovation -Be open to offering suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon the kitchen's performance. You may contribute to menu planning, create new dishes and be aware of seasonal planning or customer preferences. An eye for detail, considering both design and taste to ensure each plate of food is of the optimum standard.
* Stay updated on industry trends and be open to new ideas to enhance the overall experience
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience within the industry in preparing and cooking food to high standards
* You should have strong cooking skills, a knowledge of various cooking methods and an understanding of different ingredients. Accurately follow recipes and cooking methods.
* Willingness to contribute to menu planning with an eye for detail along with being able to communicate ideas for improvements
* The kitchen can be a pressurised environment, so the ability manage your time effectively, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines is a key requirement.
* High levels of hygiene and safety awareness in a kitchen environment. Proficiency in food safety regulations and food preparation techniques
* The ability to work as part of a small team
* Adaptability and Physical Stamina -The role requires the ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of a kitchen environment
* From time to time, you may be asked to perform other duties for the good of the company. The role may necessitate the need to work early or late hours, weekends and holidays. Your contract will set out how this would work practically, ensuring you are rewarded fairly

* Competitive pay starting from the minimum wage per hour (based on experience)
* Full-time Hours per week) or Flexible Part-time Hours (15–30 per week) – to be agreed
