Graduate Teaching Assistant September 2026 to July 2027 £85 - £105 per day Primary school location, Ward of Selly Oak 1:1, small group and general classroom support in KS2 If you want a full academic year in a KS2 classroom, this Graduate Teaching Assistant role gives you practical experience that translates directly into teacher training. You will support pupils with reading, writing and maths, help them stay focused and confident in lessons, and deliver structured intervention sessions that link closely to what the teacher is teaching. The Role You will provide 1:1 support for pupils who need targeted help with core learning in KS2. You will deliver small group interventions in reading comprehension, writing skills and maths fluency. You will support whole-class learning by checking understanding and keeping pupils on task. You will help pupils build independence by using clear prompts, modelling and well-timed scaffolding. You will support behaviour for learning through consistent routines, calm redirection and positive expectations. You will prepare resources and support classroom organisation so lessons run smoothly. You will record progress and share clear, practical feedback with the class teacher. You will follow safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times and report concerns immediately. The Candidate You will have a 2:2 degree or above in any subject (English, Maths, Psychology or Education is useful, but not essential). You will have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. You will communicate clearly and build positive relationships with KS2 pupils. You will be reliable, proactive and confident working in a busy classroom. You will have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or you will be willing to obtain one.
