Deputy Head of Finance
Due to our continued growth, House of Bruar is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Head of Finance to join our friendly and professional team. This is an in person only role based at our Highland Perthshire site. Salary up to £35,000 DOE.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to play a key leadership role within our finance team. Reporting to our Head of Finance, the Deputy Head of Finance will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business while helping to drive performance, accuracy and continuous improvement across the department.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical finance expertise with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the leadership and development of the finance team, providing guidance, mentoring and day-to-day supervision
* Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, year-end accounts and financial reporting
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
* Monitor cash flow, budgeting and forecasting activities
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls and company procedures
* Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors where required
* Analyse financial data and provide insight to support commercial decision-making
* Work collaboratively with department managers across the business to improve financial processes and performance
* Support implementation of financial systems and process improvements
* Deputise for the Head of Finance when required
About You
We are looking for someone who is professional, proactive and eager to contribute to a growing and ambitious business.
You will ideally have:
* Previous experience in a senior finance or management accounting role
* Accounting qualifications or part/full qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent preferred)
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
* Excellent analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
* Experience using financial systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
* A positive, hands-on approach and willingness to support colleagues where needed
