First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a HSEQ Advisor to join their team.
The role involves providing technical and administrative health, safety, environmental, and quality support to the HSEQ department, ensuring compliance across a range of property maintenance, installation, and facilities management activities within a construction & social housing setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the Health & Safety team across business operations
2. Assist with the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
3. Conduct site health, safety, and environmental visits, including audits across offices, client properties, and construction sites
4. Monitor compliance and recommend corrective and preventative actions
5. Maintain audit and inspection schedules for company plant, equipment, and access equipment
6. Manage and maintain QHSE records and databases for reporting and audit purposes
7. Prepare Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Health & Safety Plans
8. Deliver toolbox talks and short training sessions to site and office personnel
9. Support the QHSE Manager with day-to-day departmental activities
10. Prioritise workload to meet departmental deadlines and reporting requirements
11. Attend training and pursue continuous professional development
12. Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements
13. Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe practices, ensuring proper escalation
14. Promote a strong health and safety culture across the organisation
Skills and Qualifications:
15. NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or willingness to work towards)
16. Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
17. CITB Site Supervisor or Site Manager qualification
18. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
19. Good communication skills with the ability to deliver training and safety briefings
20. Knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
Desirable
21. Experience within refurbishment, construction, or facilities management
22. Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (or working towards)
23. City & Guilds Level 3 or above
24. CIEH Level 2/3
25. Additional certifications such as PASMA, Fire Risk Assessment, Asbestos Management, Confined Spaces, Face Fit, First Aid, or ACS Gas
Location: Leatherhead
Salary: £40,000 – £43,290 Per Annum
