Hourly Rate: £30.40 PAYE / £40.66 Umbrella
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, between 7am-7pm)
Contract: Ongoing contract
Security Clearance: BPSS+ required

As a Process Performance Engineer (PPE), you will play a key role in driving operational performance and manufacturing efficiency on the shop floor. Working closely with production teams, you'll help optimise processes, enhance line balancing, and ensure seamless delivery in line with production targets.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll act as a critical link between production, engineering, and supply chain, ensuring industrial processes are efficient, robust, and continuously improving.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and optimising production sequences and line balancing to improve efficiency and delivery
Monitoring manufacturing performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
Analysing and reducing inefficiencies (e.g. white space/red space) within production processes
Supporting production teams and resolving technical issues on the shop floor
Leading and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence activities
Creating and maintaining key tools and documentation, including PERT charts and Standard Line Balancing (SLB)
Managing and maintaining Standard Time Value (STV) data and ensuring adherence to best practice
Collaborating with design and supply chain teams to translate industrial requirements
Supporting evaluation of manufacturing impacts relating to process or product changes
Coaching and supporting stakeholders in the use of process tools and methodologies
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a proactive and analytical professional with a passion for improving manufacturing processes and delivering results.
Essential experience and skills:
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment
Strong understanding of process optimisation and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience of SAP systems
Ability to analyse data and translate insights into actionable improvements
Confident communicator with experience working cross-functionallyDesirable:
Experience in a lineside or shop floor engineering role
Knowledge of line balancing, build sequence planning, or industrial performance tools (e.g. SLB, STV)
Background in delivering improvement or transformation projectsQualifications:
NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent experience)
