Key Responsibilities:
• Design & Optimization: Design and optimize MGU components, focusing on efficiency and performance within FIA regulations.
• Strategy Development: Develop and refine control strategies for energy recovery and deployment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with powertrain and vehicle dynamics teams to integrate MGUs with other vehicle systems.
• Performance Analytics: Analyze MGU performance data and implement improvements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FIA regulations regarding energy recovery and deployment.
• Track-Side Support: Participate in track testing and race weekend operations to support MGU performance.
• Performance Strategy: Work closely with drivers and race engineers to optimize MGU strategies for different circuits and race conditions.
Qualifications:
• Education: Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in motorsport, preferably in Formula 1, Formula-E, or other hybrid or EV-based high-performance racing series.
• Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of electric motor design, power electronics, and control systems.
• Leadership: Proven track record of leading engineering teams in a high-pressure, results-driven environment.
• Analytical Skills: Strong capability in data analysis, simulation, and performance modeling of complex electromechanical systems.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of FIA technical regulations pertaining to power units and energy recovery systems.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of MGU systems and their integration with F1 hybrid power units.
• Expertise in high-speed electric motor design and optimization.
• Proficiency in thermal management of high-performance electrical systems.
• Experience with energy recovery strategies and power deployment optimization.
