THE LOCATION
Billingham Forum is a major leisure destination with swimming pools, an Ice Arena, extensive health and fitness provision, sauna and steam rooms, activity and meeting rooms, and Go Climb.
Hours of Work
You will work an average of 37 hours per week on a rotation of early and late shifts, agreed in advance across 7 days a week.
The Role
This is a hybrid role requiring the postholder to act as a Keyholder and Leisure Assistant during the shift. It offers a strong career opportunity with comprehensive training and development, including the potential to step up as a Relief Duty Manager.
As the Key Holder, you will supervise all staff in the absence of the Duty Manager, ensure adequate staffing on shift, address staffing issues, motivate the team to maintain high standards of performance, cleanliness and customer care, and liaise with customers to resolve complaints. You will work with the Duty Manager to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of service.
The Leisure Assistant aspect involves working as part of a team of Lifeguards to monitor the pool area, provide trained assistance to users in difficulty (including administering First Aid when required), deliver excellent customer care, set up activities (pool, dry sport, meetings/conferences and major events) and perform general duties to keep the centre clean, secure and operating to high standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must hold:
* A valid National Pool Lifeguard certificate and an up-to-date training record.
* A valid Pool Plant Operator’s certificate or be willing to obtain this qualification.
Additionally, this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. If successful, you must complete a Lifeguard competency assessment test.
