The Health Care Support Worker works as part of the ward/department team under the supervision of a registered nurse and:
* Participates in the delivery of patient care
* Contributes towards ward/department organisation
* Supports registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment
* Completes the National Care Certificate
The post is advertised as a Band 3 role subject to the following:
* Successfully completing the care certification within the six month probationary period of employment, during which you will be paid Band 2
* Or providing a copy of your completed care certificate which has been reviewed during the recruitment process and determined as meeting the accepted standard
Upon successful completion (or accepted evidence) of the Care Certification and completion of the probationary period of employment, you will be promoted to NHS AFC Band 3. Failure to complete the Care Certification within this timeframe may result in termination of employment.
