Primary Teacher with SEND / Autism Experience – Permanent Role (September 2026)
Recruitment Education is working closely with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school to appoint an outstanding Primary Teacher with SEND experience to join their dedicated Autism Unit, which is an integral part of the wider school community.
Recruitment Education has a strong, established relationship with the school and has successfully supported a number of staff who have progressed into permanent roles. The school is highly supportive, places a strong emphasis on staff development and upskilling, and is keen to promote from within wherever possible.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and inclusive teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with autism and SEND needs. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, structured, and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within the Autism Unit.
Key responsibilities include:

Planning, preparing, and delivering an appropriate programme of work that:

Actively engages pupils in learning

Takes account of each child’s individual needs through effective differentiation
*
Considers the child’s needs across all areas of development
*
Delivering a knowledge-based curriculum that celebrates children’s achievements and contributions
*
Creating a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
*
Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to ensure positive outcomes
*
Working collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*
Have experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly autism (within a mainstream or specialist setting)
*
Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils
*
Demonstrate strong inclusive practice and effective behaviour management strategies
*
Be committed to professional development and continuous improvement
*
Thrive in a collaborative and supportive school environment
