Development and Housing Directorate – Located in the heart of the Lancashire, Preston is a vibrant city with a rich history, beautiful landscapes, and a thriving cultural scene. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual to take up a Planning Officer role within the Development Management team. In this Planning Officer role you will deal with a range of planning applications for development proposals across the City. As such, you should have excellent communication and negotiation skills. The role will require you to have knowledge of the planning system as well as current planning legislation, policies and procedures. You will be able to act on your own initiative and have the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.

The successful applicant must be customer focussed, a team player with demonstrable experience of effective planning and enforcement work either within the planning profession or in another profession where your skills will be transferrable.
