Contract: Long-term | ASAP start | Temp-to-perm

Long Term Futures are working with a supportive primary school in Ealing to recruit a Year 5 Teaching Assistant to support a class with a high proportion of EAL pupils, alongside children with SEMH needs. The school is seeking a confident communicator with an excellent grasp of spoken English, who can provide calm, compassionate and consistent support. This is a long-term role starting ASAP, with a clear pathway to a permanent position.

About the Role
You will support pupils in a Year 5 classroom where clear communication and strong language modelling are essential. The role involves supporting EAL learners to access the curriculum, reinforcing vocabulary and instructions, and helping pupils build confidence in spoken English. You will also support children with SEMH needs, using a patient, empathetic approach to promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and engagement with learning. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement targeted strategies and interventions.

About the School
The school is a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ealing with a diverse pupil population and a strong focus on inclusion and wellbeing. Staff are well supported by an experienced leadership team, and Teaching Assistants are valued as an integral part of the school community. The school benefits from excellent public transport links, making it easily accessible for commuters.

What's on Offer
£105-£120 per day, paid weekly, depending on experience. Long-term role with an immediate start available and a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity. Ongoing support from Long Term Futures throughout the placement.

Who This Role Is Ideal For
This role is ideal for candidates with strong spoken English and experience supporting EAL learners or pupils with SEMH needs. It is well suited to aspiring teachers, psychology graduates, and individuals with backgrounds in SEN, youth work, mental health, pastoral support or education. It is also suitable for Teaching Assistants seeking long-term stability or progression into a permanent role.

We welcome applications from candidates with degrees or backgrounds in psychology, speech and language, youth work, mental health, or other related fields relevant to SEN roles.
