Job summary
Our Water company client is seeking a Principal Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join their Brighton-based team on a hybrid or remote working basis.

Our client is looking for a dynamic and experienced Principal Hydraulic Modeller to join a team driving innovation in the delivery of essential infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical guidance and leadership to the project team.
* Liaise with stakeholders and prepare reports.
* Lead in the preparation of design calculations, specifications, datasheets, and technical content of contracts.
* Approve designs and ensure technical governance & QA is adhered to within the team.
* Manage project budgets to ensure delivery within financial constraints.
* Resolve complex design issues.
* Challenge company standards and promote continuous improvement.
* Research industry best practices to provide innovative solutions, including digital design concepts.
* Collaborate with supply chain and delivery partners to improve efficiency.
* Potential line management responsibilities for junior engineers.
* Coach and mentor junior staff, working with senior managers to ensure engagement.
Skills/experience/qualifications
* MEng/BEng/BSc or HNC in Engineering, Environmental, or related sciences.
* Chartered Engineer status.
* Proven experience in delivering wastewater hydraulic modelling projects within the UK Water Industry.
* Thorough knowledge of wastewater hydraulic modelling principles.
* Experience as a Principal/Senior Hydraulic Modeller or similar role.
* Full driving license.
* Proficiency in MS Office and relevant IT design tools.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical ideas clearly.
* Ability to work independently and resolve complex problems.
* Strong team awareness and collaboration skills.
* Decision-making confidence and accountability.
* Commitment to ongoing training and development.
Salary is open to discussion, with a guide of 60-70k.
