GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive primary school in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in the classroom and are confident in supporting children with additional needs. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced teaching staff to support pupils— particularly those with SEN—across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2. You will be expected to provide personalised support, helping pupils to access learning in a nurturing and inclusive environment. A full UK driving licence is essential, as the role may involve working across different sites or travelling to support specific pupils. Key Responsibilities of the Primary Teaching Assistant: Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN. Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons. Encourage and support pupil participation and independence. Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning atmosphere. Support with preparing learning materials and maintaining a well-organised learning space. Build strong, professional relationships with staff, pupils, and families. Requirements of the Primary Teaching Assistant: Previous experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable. Must hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to travel if needed. A proactive, patient, and compassionate approach to learning support. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passionate about helping pupils overcome learning barriers and reach their potential. An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, with any gaps explained).
