We're looking for a Roadway Project Engineer to join our Transportation Group. This role offers the opportunity to lead design efforts on a wide range of transportation projects, including corridor studies, roadway rehabilitation, ADA compliance, and complex interchanges. The ideal candidate will bring DOT design experience.
What You'll Do
As a Roadway Project Engineer, you\'ll:
* Lead design on transportation engineering projects including intersections, local streets, collectors, arterials, rural roadways, trails, and sidewalks with ADA facilities.
* Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and survey data to plan and assemble construction documents.
* Conduct preliminary engineering evaluations and studies to identify design alternatives and assist in making recommendations.
* Prepare project quantities and cost estimates.
* Ensure project quality in accordance with QA/QC guidelines.
* Provide hands-on expertise and contribute to complex, multidisciplinary projects.
* Coach and mentor junior staff and support their career development.
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
* Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering.
* Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required; PE license .
* 3+ years of experience in project design and plan development; DOT experience .
* Proficiency with MicroStation and Bentley\'s OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
* Strong technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
* Ability to lead design tasks across a variety of transportation project types.
* Strong time management and organizational skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulations.
