The successful candidate will be part of a team delivering an efficient and effective Rent Income service to all Council tenants in East Lothian. They will help the team minimise rent arrears and maximise income, ensuring the Council has the finances to provide quality housing services. Initially, the role involves reviewing and managing Homeless Former Tenant debt.
Post 2 - Temporary secondment cover until 31st March 2026.

This role covers an internal secondment for approximately nine months, contributing to the Rent Income service for all Council tenants in East Lothian. The candidate will assist in minimising rent arrears and maximising income to support quality housing services.

We are seeking 2 Rent Income Advisers for our Revenues Service at John Muir House, Haddington.
Applicants should have at least SVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience. They should have experience working in a customer-focused environment, with excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
Home / Hybrid Working Consideration
Applications for homeworking or hybrid working will be considered, subject to a trial period and in line with East Lothian Council's policies. Candidates must reside in the UK and be willing to attend Council offices as needed.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
NC/SVQ Level 2, Higher, or equivalent, or demonstrate relevant experience and skills.
Driving Licence
A current driving licence and access to a vehicle are required. Reasonable adjustments will be made for disabilities preventing obtaining a licence.
Level 1 Disclosure Clearance
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance. The Council will handle the application process. Candidates with recent UK or overseas residence may need to provide additional criminal record checks.
