Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team at Lanes Health Club, West Sussex's premier destination for health and wellness. This role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our vision of being the best health club in the region, by supporting the delivery of engaging campaigns that attract, inspire, and retain members.
You will work closely with our strategic marketing agency, acting as the key bridge between the club and the agency to ensure smooth execution of the marketing strategy and tactical plans. This role is central to ensuring our brand vision is delivered consistently across all channels.
The successful candidate will have a strong eye for detail, a passion for brand storytelling, and the ability to work across digital and traditional marketing channels. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone eager to learn, grow, and make a real impact on the club's success.
Achieving our vision requires teamwork, curiosity and collaboration. You may occasionally be asked to support other areas of the business, such as helping with events, attending meetings, or assisting with cross-department initiatives.

Role Specific Responsibilities
* Act as the primary link between the club and our strategic marketing agency, ensuring effective execution of the agreed marketing strategy and tactical plans.
* Support the planning, development, and execution of marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels.
* Manage day-to-day social media activity, ensuring stories and posts are engaging, consistent, and aligned with brand tone.
* Optimise content for Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant platforms, using business tools effectively.
* Assist in the creation of email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotional materials.
* Maintain brand consistency across all communication touchpoints.
* Contribute to the design of marketing assets using tools such as Photoshop and InDesign.
* Support the development of marketing plans and follow campaign timelines from start to finish.
* Collaborate with internal teams to support promotions, events, and member engagement initiatives.
* Provide regular updates on campaign performance, suggesting improvements for future activity.
* Assist with photography, video, and content creation for campaigns and member communications.
Member Responsibilities
* Deliver a first-class member experience by ensuring marketing materials are engaging, accurate, and inspiring.
* Represent the brand positively, supporting our philosophy of Safety, Standards, and Service.
* Respond to member feedback on social media and other channels promptly and professionally.
* Act as a brand ambassador in all communications, embodying the club's values of care, wellness, and community.
Skills Required (Person Specification)
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram Business.
* Experience in content creation and campaign execution.
* Ability to create, follow, and evaluate marketing plans.
* Understanding of traditional marketing methods.
* Experience with design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, or Canva (preferred).
* Basic knowledge of analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, or similar)
* Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Creative, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Schedule
* Expected, but flexible weekly hours 22.5 – 24 hours per week.
* Occasional weekend or event-related commitments.
Experience
* Marketing or social media experience: Minimum 1 year (essential).
* Graphic design experience (Photoshop/InDesign): (preferred).
* Content creation and campaign management experience: (preferred).
