Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic Patient Systems Officers on a fixed term contract for 9 months.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Patient Systems Team developing and providing technical support and technical systems administration for TEWV's portfolio of Patient Information Systems including CITO, Electronic Prescribing, Paris and SystmOne.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

1. Undertaking technical database management, system administration and development of large-scale patient systems.
2. Providing 2nd Line Support to effectively resolve customer issues and problems
3. Planning, delivering and evaluating appropriate systems developments using the Agile methodology.
4. Undertaking System upgrades (including testing, configuration and issue management) both in and out of core hours.
5. Collaborate with clinical teams to understand their needs and how the patient management system can be improved to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

Essential

6. Educated to degree standard or equivalent, in an informatics related subject OR Desirable o Equivalent experiential learning in the field of Information systems design, development and implementation.

Experience

Essential

7. Experience of managing and administering a large information system.
8. Experience of change control processes and producing technical specification options
9. Experience of managing and supporting complex database management systems in busy, confidential settings
10. Experience of a customer led service
11. Experience of NHS IT systems and services
12. Experience of using and writing SQL and other system development languages
13. Experience in managing work packages

Desirable

14. Working in an NHS environment
15. Experience in the management of third party suppliers

Knowledge

Essential

16. Good understanding of relational database management systems (RDBS)
17. Up to date practical knowledge of the management of and use of Software application platforms,. SQL, IBM, Oracle
18. Knowledge of one or more computer system(s), hardware or software and procedures to develop reports, documents and spreadsheets
19. Good understanding of system change control processes, upgrades paths and release management
20. Good knowledge of standard PC applications (. PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Desirable

21. Knowledge of current NHS legislation, policies and procedures relating to data protection
22. Knowledge of clinical processes/terminology
23. Knowledge of the development cycle including requirements gathering, design, build, test, release and sign-off
24. Knowledge of change management principles (ITIL)

25. Ability to work autonomously, under pressure and meet deadlines using excellent organisational planning skills
26. Develop and maintain communication with people about difficult matters and/or in difficult situations
27. Advanced computer literacy and keyboard skills and technical skills in one or more of the following areas: Relational database skills and expertise, Systems programming languages, Advanced SQL,End user interface design (UDFs)
