Description: System Test Analyst

THE ROLE
A rare and exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in the UK. We are looking for a System Test Analyst who truly wants to make an impact on our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for focusing on the execution of core testing activities during the Software Development Lifecycle. This involves test preparation, test execution, capturing test evidence, and investigating & logging defects.
The System Test Analyst will also be responsible for creating and/or inputting into testing documentation. Being the lead on testing activities, the System Test Analyst will work closely with key project stakeholders and provide suitable reporting to the wider business group.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. Extensive system testing experience
2. A background in software testing or IT is essential
3. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and higher
4. Experience of .NET (VB.NET, ASP.NET) desirable
5. Experience of working with test automation tools such as Odin Axe, Selenium, & SOAPUI
6. Understanding of different testing approaches and techniques
7. Agile, SCRUM or RAD experience
8. Experience of working within the constructs of Team Foundation Server 2010/2013 and above
9. Knowledge of working with test management tools such as Microsoft Test Manager 2010/2013
10. Business project management experience
QUALIFICATIONS
• ISTQB Foundation in Software Testing as a minimum
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Test script creation and execution
2. Liaise with Business Analysts to ensure test coverage of functional requirements
3. Defect investigation & logging where expected outcomes are different from actual
4. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of core system and processes, and how those systems and processes interact
5. Perform System Integration and End to End testing
6. Develop skills required for the production of estimates and risk analysis (where required)
7. Attend/lead document walkthroughs and reviews of project documentation when required from a testing perspective
8. Consistently communicate risks and issues to the project team and/or IT QA Manager
9. Define and document the test strategy per project, ensuring a robust test pack is in place to support the test execution
