This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an ambitious Engineer with exposure to the UK piling, foundations, or ground and geotechnical engineering sectors. The position is primarily remote, with occasional site visits as needed. A full UK driving license is required; no visa or sponsorship support is available.
The Role
Due to continued growth and increased workload, our client has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Estimator to support their expansion plans. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification and 2-3 years of experience in any area of the piling, foundations, or ground engineering sectors, from disciplines such as Site/Contract/Project Engineer, Estimator, or Design Engineer.
Role Specifications
* Interpret specifications, engineering plans, and drawings to determine the scope of works.
* Review GI reports to identify potential risks within the ground and installation methods.
* Check tender requirements against company governance and strategy to select appropriate engineering solutions.
* Understand designs supplied by the client and in-house teams.
* Conduct site inspections with the Contracts Team to analyze conditions and assess risks.
* Review contract conditions and incorporate requirements into tender submissions.
* Maintain ongoing communication with clients regarding tender progress, recorded via a CRM system.
The Person
* Experience in the piling or ground geotechnical engineering sector.
* Confident and articulate communicator with client relationship skills.
* Motivated to develop professional knowledge and achieve targets.
* Ability to identify risks during tendering and highlight them appropriately.
* Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2007 & 2015.
* Strong numeracy skills and data analysis abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and some knowledge of AutoCAD.
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Organized, deadline-oriented, and a team player with a flexible work ethic.
* A full UK driving license.
