Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our market leading manufacturing client with their search for a Manufacturing Engineer. Overall Purpose: The Manufacturing Engineer reports directly to the head of engineering and is supervised by the Lead Manufacturing Engineer. They support the definition and industrialisation of new product introduction manufacturing processes and provide support to production and engineering.
Key Duties:
1. Provide design for manufacture support during design and development.
2. Support process development.
3. Support process implementation.
4. Provide support to junior engineers.
5. Contribute to equipment specifications.
6. Write up specifications for new equipment, tender for and install new equipment, including training personnel.
7. Support continuous improvement.
8. Work closely with Production to develop practices, routines and solutions to help improve productivity and product quality.
9. Support engineering change activities.
10. Set up CNC centres and saws for new products; understand the concept of using different materials; tooling for specific situations etc.
11. Troubleshoot CNC operations using RCA and incorporating a robust solution.
12. Set up new production lines: using existing and new equipment ensuring it complies with the project and production’s expectations.
13. Optimise facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance using CI techniques.
Key Requirements:
1. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Mechanical Engineering, HND, HNC or similar.
2. Conversant in the use of CAD for data interrogation.
3. Strong Excel, Word and PPT skills.
4. GD&T.
5. Working experience of CNC machines up to 5 axis.
6. Problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. NC Programming.
8. FMEA.
9. Process design.
10. Production trials.
11. Equipment spec.
12. Design for manufacture.
13. Cost/commercial awareness.
14. Good communication / presentation skills for effective liaison and teamwork.
15. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks or projects concurrently.
The Package:
Circa £42, per annum. 40 hours/week with some flexibility on start/finish times. 5% matched contributory pension. 25 days annual holiday. Free use of company gym.
