This is an ideal opportunity for someone who:
* Has expertise in flood and coastal risk management.

* Has experience managing and contributing to large-scale, complex engineering projects and programmes of work.
* Possesses good financial management skills and problem-solving abilities.
* Has solid understanding of legislation such as the Flood and Water Management Act, the Land Drainage Act, the Coastal Protection Act, and the CDM Regulations.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide essential support to the Principal Engineer in leading and managing the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team, contributing to team performance and development.
* Deliver complex engineering and flood and coastal risk management projects, ensuring they meet cost, quality, and time requirements.
* Deputise for the Principal Engineer when required and provide authoritative advice on design and project delivery.
* Collaborate with emergency services and other flood risk management authorities during and after flood events, ensuring an effective response.
* Support the management and control of project budgets, helping to ensure value for money while adhering to financial limits.

It is not essential that you have worked for a Council or the public sector previously, as appropriate mentoring and training will be provided.
