Overview
SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER (SQE) specializing in blades and vanes for our Small Gas Turbine (SGT) business. Location: Lincoln, UK (3 days in office p/week). Job Type: Full-Time 12-month contract. You’ll drive quality performance across the supply chain, collaborate with global suppliers, address complex quality challenges, and contribute to critical process improvements.
Responsibilities
* Manage non-conformances, lead root cause investigations, and support continuous improvement using industry-standard tools such as 8D, RCA, and 5 Whys.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams to uphold world-class quality standards and build strong, productive relationships with key suppliers worldwide.
* Partner with suppliers to address process and product issues, lead containment efforts, and drive resolution of non-conformances.
* Monitor supplier quality metrics, lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and support quality improvement initiatives to reduce risk and improve reliability.
* Analyse quality data for trends, contribute to KPIs, and provide insights and risk assessments to stakeholders.
* Support Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) efforts, ensuring supplier alignment with internal quality management processes and standards.
What You Bring
* Engineering Expertise: Solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing (degree or time-served). Hands-on experience resolving supplier quality issues from identification through resolution.
* Technical Skills: Knowledge of inspection techniques, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and experience with machining, casting, or coating of turbine blades/vanes is advantageous. Strong IT/data analysis skills, particularly in Excel.
* Quality & Risk Management: Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, RCA), risk assessment, and quality systems such as ISO 9001. Experience with supplier quality management and auditing processes.
* Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and presentation abilities, with capability to engage at all business levels. Cultural awareness and experience working in global, cross-functional teams.
* Professionalism & Flexibility: Positive attitude, structured work habits, and willingness to travel when required.
