About the role

Teaching Assistant – Part Time

Middlesbrough (TS8 Area) – October 2026 Start

£462 per week

Vision for Education is looking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming primary school in the Middlesbrough TS8 area.

This is a part-time Teaching Assistant role, working school hours across several days per week. The successful candidate will provide general classroom support across the school, working alongside teachers and support staff to help create a positive and engaging learning environment for pupils across a range of year groups.

The role will commence in October 2026 and is expected to be ongoing, with the potential to become a longer-term placement depending on the needs of the school.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, and qualifications.

The minimum requirement for this position is a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent). Previous experience working within a primary school setting would be advantageous. The school is seeking a proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual who is confident supporting children with a variety of learning needs.

The Role

Working as part of a dedicated and supportive school team, the successful Teaching Assistant will provide general support across the school, assisting teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences for all pupils.

The successful candidate will:

1. Support teaching and learning across a range of year groups
2. Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning
3. Assist teachers with classroom preparation and organisation
4. Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
5. Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
6. Adapt to different classroom environments and year groups as required
7. Contribute to a positive and inclusive school atmosphere

Requirements

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

8. Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
9. Have experience working within a primary school environment
10. Be confident supporting pupils across a range of ages and abilities
11. Have experience working with small groups and individual learners
12. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
13. Have a positive, flexible, and proactive approach
14. Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed school team
15. Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
