The Role Reporting to the Head of HSS UK, Europe, and Asia, this role is a subject matter expert and will be responsible for providing health and safety, fire safety, and food safety support and advice across our London sites. Following our internal safety management systems, policies, and training programmes, you will also work with the UK HSS team to create and give feedback on new HSS initiatives and campaigns, and play an important part in driving standards of excellence. The role will positively drive and improve safety culture, leading by example. Key Accountabilities: Effectively implement company safety management systems, policies, and procedures, whilst also ensuring compliance with current health and safety and food safety legislation, and Approved Codes of Practice. Successfully implement the company fire safety management system including documentation, and follow up on quarterly fire safety audits. Be the point of contact and support in the investigation of all health and safety and food safety incidents, and near misses, ensuring these are recorded and processed in line with company procedures in a timely manner, and implement change where possible to prevent recurrence. Create and annually review risk assessments for all work equipment and operations in the business as required, and ensure safe systems of work are in place, including completion of COSHH risk assessments. Conduct internal H&S, food safety, and fire safety audits and report on performance to management teams on site, to provide a safe environment for our employees, members, and customers. Liaise with General Managers and Safety and Operation Managers to ensure statutory compliance is always achieved in all sites, and there are structured plans and processes in place to maintain high standards. Experience Required: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. Qualified to minimum Level 3 in Food Safety. Minimum of three years’ experience managing occupational health and safety and risk management in similar environment. Auditing skills and experience of management systems. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to produce concise reports and action plans. Be proactive, have good organisational skills, and work independently as well as part of a team. Have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Be engaging and have the ability to build trust.
