Job Title: BI Developer
Location: Warton
Salary: £ 41,361 + dependant upon skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
* A Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions within an iterative development environment
* Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to transform and present information into meaningful outputs through reports and visualisations
* Translate business requirements and rules in into technical design specifications
* Build and deploy BI solutions using appropriate code standards, configuration and change management process and procedures
* Working within an Agile Development framework, participating in regular development sprints and providing updates on daily standups
* Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses on source data
* Create tools to store data following standards defined by Data Services team lead where applicable (e.g. DV and SQL database for Finance tables)
* Ensure test plans, unit tests and peer reviews are carried out for all development
Your skills and experiences:
* Possess a minimum qualification of a HND in Computing or equivalent STEM qualification
* Competent in development of BI solutions which include Cognos Analytics, Framework Manager, Tableau and Planning Analytics (where applicable)
* Knowledge and awareness of connecting to data sources and working with data held in a Data Virtualisation (DV) environment or data warehouse with a sound understanding of Kimball methodology
* Experience software development lifecycle framework and have experience in working within Agile methodologies
• Cognos Analytics Report Studio Advanced certificate or alternative Report writing certificate
• Knowledge and understanding of release and deployment process including using version control software
