Job Description


We’re seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with strong expertise in Metal Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) to support cutting‑edge additive manufacturing programmes. This position combines technical engineering, data development, and procurement‑focused activities within a complex extended‑enterprise environment.

* Location: Filton
* On Site: Once every 2 weeks
* Clearance: not required
* Experience Level: Mid level

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and co‑design manufacturing datasets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
* Create technical specifications, documentation, and structured tender reports to support supplier evaluation and selection.
* Contribute to NPI processes, including risk assessments, qualification activities, and readiness reviews.
* Work with procurement teams to support MFT Extended Enterprise processes and supplier engagement.
* Provide expert insight into Metal Powder Bed Fusion technologies, workflows, and industrial applications.

Qualifications


Required Skills:

* Strong hands‑on experience with Metal Powder Bed Fusion additive manufacturing systems.
* Solid background in manufacturing engineering, including process development and industrialisation.
* Understanding of procurement processes, supplier engagement, and extended‑enterprise collaboration.
* Experience contributing to NPI, risk qualification, and technical documentation.
* Ability to work remotely while maintaining effective on‑site engagement when needed.

Required Qualifications:

* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

* Familiarity with procurement workflows, supplier engagement, and technical input for tender activities.
* Confident producing structured documentation such as specifications, reports, and risk assessments.
* Comfortable working within NPI environments, supporting qualification and industrialisation activities.
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
