What you'll do
To enact the role of Client Representative on site during development phase ensuring that the site-based construction activities, including ground investigation, surveys etc. across Scottish Power - Strategic Projects are efficiently managed.
Act as Construction subject matter expert - providing construction requirements to all stakeholders

Skilled in the use of PC & Microsoft Software Applications for planning and organising works, Power Points, Word, Excel, Project and able to use digital forms of communication TEAMS.
Proven ability to lead and work in a team and contractor's environment.
Maintain good working relationships.
Have a proactive and flexible approach and provide a high degree of autonomy during the delivery phase of the project.
Primary knowledge of construction, construction related activities including RAMS & ITP's, Hazard Identification & Mitigation, relevant standards & specifications, good understanding of designs, maintenance, monitoring As-Built records and H&S file preparation for the works, underground cabling within substation, monitoring and inspecting the installation of foundations, steel structures, ducts systems, control buildings, underground cables, all HV equipment's including transformers and associated installations, cable sealing ends and terminations, fibre optic connections etc.
Ability to implement quality assurance and environmental processes.
Basic understanding of various Contract forms such as NEC 3 or 4 and FIDIC etc. & awareness of NEC conditions of contract.
Expert understanding of Safety and Environmental legislation and practices and policies.
Previous experience of project site management capability of working to deadlines and in a contracting environment.
Significant experience in managing transmission construction projects.
Extensive experience of construction standards especially with regards to Overhead Lines
Extensive experience and knowledge in all current Health and Safety legislation & understand CDM 2015 regs & duty holder roles, most notably in delivering the Client role and/or Principal Contractor role.
In addition, have experience in the application and compliance with GS6, HSG47, and Temporary works.
Knowledge of specifications, designs, maintenance, construction and commissioning of overhead lines, monitoring and inspecting construction activities such as access development, foundation installation, assembly, and erection (wood pole and towers), wiring, re-insulation, re-spacering, re-conductoring, tower painting and reinstatement works.
Technical knowledge to understand civil, structural and wiring design drawings and all inspection and testing regimes associated.
Minimum Criteria
* HNC / HND or equivalent experience in an engineering and or construction discipline.
* SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH or SSSTS.
* Formal training in the following areas: Construction H&S, CDM, Risk Assessment & Method Statements, Environmental, Duty of Care and Waste Management, Contract Terms and Conditions.
* IT skills.
* Full UK driving licence
