We have a fantastic opportunity for a Depot Assistant to join our Caledonia depot on a full-time, permanent basis.
Basic Purpose of Role
To support the depot management team with routine operational and engineering activities within the ‘disciplined operations and efficiency’ framework.
Make recommendations for improving operational and engineering performance by proactively reviewing business processes, policies, and systems.
Support the depot Operations and Engineering Managers to implement business and system change programmes.
Key Accountabilities
1. Support the depot management team in maintaining accurate records for all operational and engineering standards and performance.
2. Prepare information to support disciplinary, grievance, or absence management reviews.
3. Prepare reports by collating, analysing, and summarising information.
4. Assist the depot team in ensuring all depot equipment is logged and maintained, and sufficient stock levels are available, including ticket machines, driver equipment, cash machines, and ticket rolls.
5. Log and coordinate the return of lost property to customers using Tracerit.
6. Coordinate new uniform deliveries as needed.
7. Process vehicle defect information.
8. Support accurate recording of employee hours and attendance, including inputting and checking data from DAS GUI, timesheets, and clock cards.
9. Handle telephone queries and support resolution of customer and employee inquiries.
10. Comply with requisition to pay procedures and delegated authorities.
11. Provide front desk cover as required.
12. Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the line manager.
Skills/Experience
1. Clear and confident verbal communication skills.
2. Strong written communication skills with attention to detail.
3. Efficiency in processing information.
4. Experience in customer service or administration roles is advantageous.
