Salary: £45,000 - 48,000 per year Requirements: We want proven experience designing and managing large-scale enterprise networks. We want a strong understanding of routing and core protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and NFS. We want solid experience in network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption standards. We want hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware vSphere. We see familiarity with containerisation technologies as an advantage. We want good knowledge of Windows Server environments. We prefer certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent. We value experience working within structured IT environments, with ITIL knowledge beneficial. We want a proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong communication skills. Responsibilities: We design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network architecture across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments. We ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of network services. We troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across multiple environments. We configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. We lead network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement projects. We implement secure remote access solutions, including VPN, IPsec, SSL/TLS, and SSH. We enforce network security best practices, including firewall rules, IDS/IPS, encryption, and PKI. We monitor network performance, capacity, and security using appropriate tools. We support disaster recovery and business continuity planning. We manage patching, updates, and configuration backups. We produce clear documentation for network configurations and disaster recovery procedures. We provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. We participate in on-call support and incident response when required.
