Part Time Finance Manager (Charity) - Penzance area - £36,000 FTE

Trial Balance Consulting has formed an exclusive recruitment partnership with a unique charity based west of Penzance, in a beautiful setting. The organisation seeks a Finance Manager for a permanent, part-time role over a 3.5-day week. The charity offers flexible working hours.
Joining a friendly senior management team, the successful candidate will manage all financial controls for this small not-for-profit. Working closely with the CEO, Creative Director, and trustees, this role is ideal for an experienced Bookkeeper. Key responsibilities include:
* Acting as the finance lead, overseeing daily accounting operations
* Producing management accounts with commentary for the trustees
* Bank reconciliations
* Monitoring cash flow and income
* HMRC submissions and Gift Aid claims
* Managing monthly payroll, including pensions
* Preparing annual balance sheets
* Producing statutory reports per charity SORP and UK Charity Commission standards
* Handling VAT submissions
* Liaising with auditors and stakeholders
The ideal candidate: We value relevant experience over formal qualifications, welcoming applications from QBE, AAT, or professionally qualified individuals. Previous charity accounting experience is advantageous but not essential; candidates with strong private sector finance backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. You should be an accomplished accountant with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
