In this position, you will:
1. Manage and oversee a variety of tasks to support the administrative and business needs of a Virginia State Park operation and the day-to-day operations of a park office, including financial and account management, human resource management, records management, procurement, and administrative activities such as project tracking and reporting.
2. Manage Park budgets, fiscal records, reservations, cash management, procurement, and computer operations.
3. Identify priorities of the park and develop standards and objectives for administrative processes.
4. Maintain and track accounts payable and process wage employment to include knowledge of proper calculations for payroll certification.
5. Handle new hire paperwork, including the I-9 or E-Verify.
6. Supervise and implement training for office and contact station wage employees and coordinate schedules for the same.
7. Work with a high degree of independence daily with overall supervision from the park manager.
8. Serve as liaison between central administrative functions and field functions.

Minimum Qualifications
9. Familiarity with a variety of office equipment and systems such as computers, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Publisher), Canva, printers, copiers, and calculators.
10. Experience in a customer service and/or public relations environment.
11. Cash management, merchandise, and/or retail sales experience.
12. Experience with procurement, contracts, bookkeeping, budget management, and records retention.
13. Supervisory experience to include training and performance management.
14. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
15. Valid Driver's License is required.
Additional Considerations
16. Previous experience in a state park or a similar setting is desirable.
17. Familiarity with state accounting procedures, procurement of goods, and financial systems.
18. Experience recruiting, hiring, supervising, managing personnel, and their paperwork related to hiring submissions, monitoring timesheets, scheduling, and submitting payroll.

20. DCR classified, retired, and wage staff (after six months of service) are entitled to overnight facility discounts such as: Free camping outside of the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day period in sites designed for up to six people. Free camping Sunday night through Thursday night (excluding the night prior to a holiday) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Fifty percent discount on cabins (up to 3 bedrooms) outside of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, for a maximum of 14 nights. All reservations require a two-night minimum. Bunkhouses, camping cabins, and yurts are included; one-night yurt stays only receive a 25% discount.
