A Regional Civil contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on a range of civil engineering projects across the Kent region, including heavy civil structures, civil infrastructure, groundworks, and roadworks.
Additionally, we are seeking a degree-qualified candidate with at least two years of experience within the Civil Engineering industry and familiarity with NEC contracts.
Principal Duties & Accountabilities:
1. Understand the contractual requirements of project documents, including roles and responsibilities, notices required to record changes, etc. Coordinate responses with the Commercial Manager.
2. Manage costs for the project or section of works.
3. Understand allowances for elements of work such as preliminaries, materials, subcontractors, etc.
4. Forecast costs to completion.
5. Manage value for the project or section of works.
6. Prepare interim and final accounts.
7. Understand the true value at the end of the reporting period and compare it with actual costs expended.
8. Forecast final value at completion.
9. Record changes and allocate responsibilities.
10. Evaluate and recover costs for changes not related to risk or liability, including recovery from third parties.
11. Manage risks and opportunities for the project or section of works.
12. Work with the operations team to identify known and new risks and opportunities to maximize project returns.
