Rate: £26-30 per hour (Ltd)
Contract: 3 months ongoing
Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
Hours: Part-time (3 days a week)
Role Requirements
* Experience in Local Government or the Public Sector
Role Overview
* Provide specialist financial and technical advice on strategic developments, including complex funding schemes and efficiency initiatives linked with other departments.
* Offer financial direction, advice, and support for complex development projects. Develop options through business case principles and evaluate delivery methods to ensure long-term sustainability and protect the Council's interests.
* Analyze legislation, government guidance, and initiatives relevant to the role, assessing financial implications, risks, and opportunities for the Council.
* Manage the budget process in accordance with Corporate standards and deadlines.
* Establish and develop partnerships with other organizations to align their financial plans with those of the Council.
* Oversee the preparation of budgets ensuring compliance with standards and timelines.
* Support the preparation of bids for external funding, ensuring they align with the Council's objectives and resources.
* Promote development within the Finance Transformation and Performance Directorate and foster employee engagement.
* Assist in preparing the Council's Statement of Accounts, VAT, and Treasury Management functions in line with deadlines.
* Support staff development through training and appraisals, and undertake personal training as necessary.
