DK Recruitment are working with a global Manufacturer who are looking to offer an experienced and qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician a new career and join their successful team based in Plymouth. This role will be responsible for the smooth production of plastic components using Injection moulding machines.
This role is on a night shift, where you will work 3 days on, 3 days off shift pattern, working 2300-1100. Excellent Salary.
Responsibilities
* Operating injection moulding machines to produce plastic components according to specifications.
* Troubleshooting issues with machines or processes through root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical).
* Completion of routine planned maintenance - Weekly, Monthly & 6 Monthly.
* Assisting PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks on machines.
* Working safely and adhering to health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
* Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste (e.g. 5S, Gemba Activities, Kaizen, TIMWOODS).
* Collaborating with all members of the shift core team including Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers and Shift Leaders.
* Documenting production data and maintaining accurate records through SAP.
* Conducting regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications & Experience
* Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline is essential for this position.
* Previous experience in a technical role in a manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience of Injection Moulding is desirable though not mandatory.
* Ability to fault find on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
* Ability to follow work instructions to complete routine tasks.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
* Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
* Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Outlook).
