Connexus UK is working in partnership with a Toome based specialist trailer and rigid truck body manufacturing company. They design, fabricate, and deliver high-quality trailers—including walking floor, tipper, curtainsider, specialist trailers.
They are seeking a skilled Production Supervisor to oversee a team of sprayers, welders, and fitters in a busy trailer manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations on the shop floor, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to motivate and support a multi-disciplined team
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily operations across multiple trades: spraying, welding, and fitting.
* Coordinate workflow on a busy production floor to meet output schedules and maintain quality standards.
* Ensure safety and compliance with workplace regulations and best practices.
* Coach, develop, and mentor team members—promoting collaboration and skill growth.
* Monitor performance, conduct regular appraisals, and manage performance improvement where needed.
* Organise materials, equipment, and staffing to optimise efficiency.
* Work closely with management to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Criteria
* Proven prior experience in supervising multi-disciplined production teams preferably in heavy industry or engineering.
* Strong leadership skills—confident, approachable, and motivational.
* Solid technical background: understanding of welding, spraying, and fitting processes and safety protocols.
* Results-oriented mindset with keen attention to detail, quality control, and productivity.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive problem-solver with a track record of process improvement
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience in the trailer, automotive, or heavy engineering industry.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
