About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support to pupils with autism and a range of complex needs. You will provide assistance both 1:1 and in small group settings, helping learners to engage with the curriculum, build independence, and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver individualised support to students with autism and complex learning needs.
* Assist teachers with planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
* Implement personalised learning programmes and effective behaviour management strategies.
* Provide emotional and pastoral support, promoting well-being and positive relationships.
* Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting children with autism and complex needs (essential).
* A calm, patient, and empathetic approach when working with learners.
* Strong behaviour management and de-escalation abilities.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
