Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Senior/Principal Electrical Designer to join our on-site team based in the City of Plymouth. This role involves designing and developing electrical systems and specifications for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors. You will be responsible for creating detailed electrical services designs along with drawings, specification of works, reports etc, collaborating with project teams to meet client needs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will work to deliver high-quality and sustainable electrical engineering solutions. As a senior/principal designer, you will play a key role in mentoring junior team members and supporting project leaders.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Electrical Design and knowledge of electricity fundamentals
* Over 5 years experience in a senior role
* Registered with the Engineering Council with a grade of IEng or greater
* Expertise in Electrical Engineering principles and techniques
* Experience with Power Distribution and Power Systems design
* Strong understanding of compliance with industry standards and building regulations
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional project teams
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; professional registration is an asset
* Previous experience in M&E building projects within sectors such as healthcare, education, or residential is highly desirable
* Proficient in relevant software tools and systems for electrical design
