Statistical Science Lead/Director - Remote in UK - Global Leasing Pharma
Location: Remote in United Kingdom

Role Overview: As a key member of cross-functional teams, the Director of Statistical Science plays a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence across clinical development, medical affairs, and exploratory research. This position leads complex and novel statistical initiatives in areas such as oncology, immuno-oncology, biomarker analysis, PK/PD modeling, and real-world evidence. For select assets, the Director may also serve as Global Statistical Lead (GSTATL) or as a Methodology Expert, validating advanced techniques and championing statistical innovation.
This role is suited for a seasoned statistician who thrives in autonomy, with minimal oversight from senior statistical leads. For late-phase or novel assets, the Director may represent the organization in high-impact settings—regulatory meetings, HTA discussions, and scientific forums—covering topics from clinical data to biomarkers, PROs, and methodology.
Key Responsibilities & Impact:
* Provide strategic statistical support across development programs and studies, either independently or by mentoring junior statisticians.
* Shape asset strategy by offering high-level statistical input on clinical development plans, compound strategies, and go/no-go decisions.
* Lead biomarker & PK/PD initiatives by executing biomarker and pharmacometric strategies, leading complex studies, and supporting marketed products with quantitative insights.
* Influence regulatory & payer outcomes by contributing to dossiers and publications with clear statistical interpretation.
* Communicate effectively by presenting data and analyses to stakeholders to inform decisions and build confidence.
* Enable integrated evidence generation by ensuring biomarker, external, and CRF databases are available and integrated for development and commercialization.
* Drive innovation & mentorship by researching new methodologies, validating techniques, and training future statistical leaders.
* Support strategic growth by participating in due diligence, evaluating external data, and advising on statistical implications for business decisions.
Qualifications:
* Experience in Oncology / Immuno-oncology
* Phase I-III experience preferred
* Strong background in oncology drug development
* Strategic input to clinical development plans
* Experience working with study-level statisticians
* Submission support experience
* Familiarity with Bayesian frameworks and survival analysis
