This is an expression of interest ahead of AMP 8. We are open to speaking with Principal Mechanical Engineers interested in working in the South of England. Potential office locations include Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill, London, Reading, or High Wycombe.
With hybrid working options, this role combines in-office and remote work, ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer seeking to advance their career within a leading consultancy, working on impactful water sector projects.
We collaborate with top water clients across the UK on major projects that support sustainable development and infrastructure, helping mitigate climate change effects.
Your responsibilities include managing the entire project lifecycle—from feasibility and design to construction support, site surveys, and investigations. You will liaise with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members.

Candidate Profile
* Experienced Mechanical Engineer, ideally Chartered with IMechE, with a background in water industry mechanical design.
* Proficient in producing and reviewing technical specifications, pump and aeration system designs, schedules, and reports. Familiar with collaborative planning, solutions design, and technical reviews.
* Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary design outputs, including General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
* Strong communication skills for delivering technical presentations and participating in design discussions, safety reviews, HAZOPs, and ALMs. Capable of providing technical leadership and supporting junior engineers.
* Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, with experience assessing existing infrastructure for mechanical design development. Candidates with experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors are also encouraged to apply.
