Job Title: Mealtime Experience & Hospitality Assistant

Overview: We are seeking a Mealtime Experience & Hospitality assistant in Peterborough. This is a Full‑time and permanent position. You will work as part of the catering team, ensuring the provision of a high‑quality mealtime experience for our residents. The role involves working closely with unit staff and kitchen teams, coordinating meal delivery, and maintaining a resident‑centred and tailored dining experience.
Responsibilities
* Ensure a high‑quality dining experience for residents, keeping dining areas clean and tidy, polishing cutlery and cups, refilling cruets, properly laying tables, ensuring menus are available, and creating a calm and cheerful ambience.
* Adhere to all dietary requirements, food safety, health and safety standards, and PJ Care policies and procedures.
* Support unit staff during mealtimes to follow correct serving methods and assist residents as necessary.
* Collaborate with the environmental auditing team to continually improve provision.
* Ensure unit staff take daily food orders from residents and communicate orders to kitchen teams.
* Assist the Kafoodle coordinator with the roll‑out and use of the online food ordering system and train staff in its use.
* Maintain daily records for food and fridge temperatures when required.
* Maintain good hygiene and cleanliness throughout dining areas, including kitchenettes, and complete cleaning schedules as required.
* Ensure all equipment, utensils and condiments are clean and well‑maintained.
* Share specific dietary concerns with the Head Chef and kitchen teams.
* Support residents in choosing alternative food when they dislike meals or lack variety.
* Maintain knowledge of specific dietary requirements, including diabetic diet and modified textures (IDSSI).
* Ensure unit staff deliver person‑centred meal service and identify individual needs, preferences, allergies and intolerances.
* Collect, set up and deliver all food service, hospitality, room, and conference services as required at Eaglewood Centre.
* Deliver hospitality and food & beverages to required standards in quantity, quality, presentation and at the proper time.
* Hold regular meetings with the mealtime experience and hospitality team to implement consistent provision across all sites and meet daily standards.
Working Hours and Shift Pattern
The position follows a rota shift pattern: 7 am to 5 pm (nine‑hour shift with a one‑hour break). The schedule is four days on and two days off (Monday‑Sunday). Two days of the four are worked with the other Mealtime Experience Team Member. The role involves being on your feet for most of the day.
Qualifications
* Experience in kitchen, front‑of‑house or hospitality is advantageous but not essential.
* Must be able to drive.
* DBS check required.
