IT Director, Banking Technology & Fintech Services, London-based, with occasional travel required to Geneva, £100k-130k excellent package. An opportunity has arisen for a commercially-savvy IT Director to join a financial platform, technology and fintech provider, specialising in working with smaller investment houses, offshore banks in locations such as the Channel Islands, and Cantonal banks throughout Switzerland. The business is owned by a larger international private equity group and has benefited from major investment since acquisition in 2017/18. The newly-created role of IT Director aims to put the IT department at the forefront of the business as part of a wider digitisation agenda. The incoming IT Director will have full oversight of the IT function, including teams involved in infrastructure, in-house software developers, and a Helpdesk / platform support team for banking and financial services sector clients. The IT Director will manage internal IT budgets and will be a full member of the senior leadership team of the business. Ideally we seek an IT Director with the following attributes: Able to be a technology evangelist as an IT Director, without overwhelming or befuddling non-technical decision makers. Must be able to run a multi-functional IT department, including managing development teams and Helpdesk operations. Experience of financial services, banking, software or fintech would be an advantage. The IT Director will lead the IT department, to align with business requirements. Regularly communicate at up to board level and understand business needs. Present technical solutions to the business, as well as being able to explain their potential impact and benefits on the business. The IT Director will need to be a true leader within the business, as well as managing IT and technical services. The IT Director role can be located at offices in ether London (City) or Geneva, with some occasional travel required between the two locations. The business has very much adapted an agile working environment, including enabling remote working and new ways of working for most staff, which means that this role can also be delivered on a hybrid basis of 2/3 days home / office respectively.
