Overview

This position will develop the strategy to expand Emersons T&M (Test & Measurement) Academic business across EMEA universities. He/she will re-engage with the Academic community, collaborate with others to drive our Go-to-Market strategy and expand our reach within the engineering and research labs across key universities. This leadership-level business manager role will drive the strategic direction for how Emerson T&M achieves this at scale.

For this role it will be critical to work in collaboration with other team members to rethink how Emerson T&M can grow this business for the European region. He/she will need to better leverage our sales, marketing and partner channels. We will need to develop new motions, identify gaps and promote new ways of thinking that focus on simplicity and broad-based customer success in the Academic space.


In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be

* Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy and growth plan for our Academic business across universities in the European region.
* Drive cross-functional teams to build a Go-to-Market strategy with action-oriented plans that achieve our core objectives.
* Understand forward-looking market insights and trends that inform our key value propositions and enablement strategy on our differentiation in marketplace.
* Develop strong relationships within the Academic community and serve as an academic spokesperson. Represent Emerson T&M as the key business and technology leader in Academic events and with our solution partners.
* Champion the Academic community with our investment and business decisions including the definition and prioritization of product features and requirements based on customer needs, competitive analysis and market trends.
* Evangelize our strategy to internal and external stakeholders to ensure there is a clear understanding of our plans and focus areas.

For This Role You Will Need

* Bachelor’s degree or above in related engineering majors
* Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience in business development, sales, product or offering management and/or market development
* Strong sales and business acumen, strategic and logical thinking capability and entrepreneurial spirit
* Good communication skills including active listening, influencing and negotiation
* Strong cross-functional team leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and lead teams without direct management responsibility
* Acceptance of 35% travel time
