Overview

Location: Chippenham + hybrid working (initially 3 days in office, STC)
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum (DOE) + £5,000 car/travel allowance or company car
About the Role
You will join a dynamic, evolving commercial team in a company that works on reactive frameworks, including civil works, drainage, and more within the rail industry. They are looking for a proactive and ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join them as they expand into new areas. Responsibilities
* This role will involve working closely with the commercial team on minor civils projects within the rail sector.
* Experience in reactive frameworks or civil works is advantageous; rail experience is not essential.
* Involvement in NEC contract administration (NEC4 experience is a plus but not required).
* Flexibility: initially in the Swindon area, with at least three days in the office; option to work remotely, and client visits once every one or two weeks.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of accurate cost estimates and budgets to ensure effective financial control.
* Managing the administration of NEC contracts, including commercial reporting, CVRs, and negotiations.
* Supporting risk management and procurement processes for successful project delivery.
* Regular collaboration with project teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
* Opportunity to lead the commercial team as the department grows and matures.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a commercial function (with at least 2-3 years as a Quantity Surveyor).
* Experience in reactive frameworks, civil works, or rail would be ideal, but we are open to all relevant sectors.

* No formal qualifications required; practical experience and attitude are what matter most.
